At TQL, our thorough recruiting and interviewing process helps us identify quality candidates who reflect our company values, traits, and characteristics. Our organization is energetic, motivated and ambitious. We seek to discover these same traits when interviewing candidates.
The best rule of thumb when interviewing with TQL is to show us your personality and "go get 'em" attitude. The point of an interview is for us to get the chance to know you and discover if you would be a good fit for our organization...and vice versa! The best fit is found when a candidate is truly excited about having the opportunity to join TQL!
1. Online Application
- Before you can be considered for a position with TQL, we ask that you complete an online application by creating a profile and submitting your resume through our system. Click here to visit our Job Openings page to begin the application process.
- Once your application has been submitted through our secure online system, you will be contacted within 2-3 business days to start the next steps in the process.
2. Phone Interview
- The phone interview is conducted by a TQL Recruiter and typically lasts between 15-30 minutes.
- This casual conversation is designed to give you more in-depth information about our organization and the specific position that you have applied for, as well as to give our recruiters the chance to get a feeling for your understanding and interest level in the position.
3. General Assessments
- You will be asked to complete a short assignment before attending the on-site interview. This assignment will require that you do some industry research to gain a better understanding of third party logistics and how TQL fits into the industry.
- During your on-site interview, you will also complete a series of general assessments that will evaluate your basic skill sets as well as the knowledge you gained during your research.
4. Interactive Job Shadow
(Part 1 of the On-Site Interview)
- During your on-site interview, you will shadow a Logistics Account Executive as they perform their typical job functions.
- You will be able to listen in on sales and logistics phone calls...and might even get the chance to make a phone call to one of our carriers!
- This is your opportunity to ask a TQL sales employee questions about TQL, our sales positions, organizational structure, daily job responsibilities, etc. Use this time wisely as our LAEs are an invaluable source of knowledge for sales candidates.
5. TQL Recruiter Interview
(Part 2 of the On-site Interview)
- The hour long, one-on-one interview is a chance to impress your TQL Recruiter by showing them your personality, work ethic, communications skills, and more.
- Be prepared to delve into you professional and educational background so that we can get to know you better.
- Because of our unique organizational culture and environment, we put a lot of weight on your personality and potential to fit in at TQL.
6. Group Sales Manager (GSM) Interview
(Part 3 of the On-Site Interview)
- The GSM interview is the last component in TQL's recruiting and interviewing process. You will meet with the specific GSM whose team you could potentially join if offered a position with TQL.
- You will watch a short video on TQL's compensation structure and have the chance to ask questions regarding our compensation program.
- Our GSMs are primarily interviewing you to uncover your practical knowledge and experience in a professional setting. You should expect to answer questions regarding the work you have performed in school or in your previous professional positions.
7. Pre-Employment Verification
- Professional reference check
- Criminal background check
- Education & employment verification
